The Phoenix Program
We Challenge, We Listen, We support.

We understand that addiction is rarely a stand-alone issue. Many individuals facing substance misuse challenges also struggle with underlying mental health conditions,
creating a complex cycle that requires a comprehensive approach. That’s
why our 28-day intensive program is designed to address both substance
misuse and mental health (dual diagnosis), offering a holistic and lived-
experience approach that fosters deep, lasting recovery.
A Journey of Transformation
Recovery is more than just abstinence—it’s about healing the whole
person. Through exploring their life story, participants gain insight into the
connections between their substance use and mental health struggles. Our
program encourages individuals to face their challenges with honesty,
accountability, and self-awareness, empowering them to build a strong
foundation for recovery.
A Unique and Supportive Setting
Each group consists of four service users, ensuring a close-knit and
supportive environment. Sessions are led by peer mentors and a dedicated
team of therapists, many of whom have personal lived experience with
addiction and mental health recovery. This unique combination of
professional and peer-led support creates a safe space for individuals to
process trauma, challenge negative thinking patterns, and develop coping
strategies that address both addiction and mental well-being.

graduation ceremony, symbolizing their commitment to a new way of life.

network, with ongoing access to mentorship and resources to maintain
their progress.
We don’t just help individuals recover—we empower them to
reclaim their lives. No one’s journey is the same, but together, we move
forward. As a wellness centre we make positive approaches to build
bridges for the future for are service users.

Education
At the heart of long-term recovery is rebuilding a meaningful, independent
life—one that includes not just emotional healing, but also practical tools
for success. That’s why we incorporate basic education classes into our
recovery program. For many individuals in recovery, education has been
disrupted or de-prioritized due to substance misuse, mental health
struggles, or life circumstances. These classes are designed to reignite
confidence, build essential life skills, and open up new opportunities for
growth beyond addiction.
A Step Toward Independence and Empowerment
Recovery is not only about overcoming substance misuse; it’s also about
regaining a sense of self-worth, purpose, and capability. Many of our
service users enter treatment having missed out on parts of their education,
or feeling unsure of their academic or intellectual abilities.
Our basic education sessions are there to bridge that gap, offering support in areas
like:
• Literacy and numeracy skills
• Digital and computer literacy
• CV writing, job readiness, and interview prep
• Goal setting and problem-solving
• Critical thinking and communication skills
These aren’t just academic subjects - they’re life tools that equip
individuals to make informed decisions, engage confidently in work or
training, and manage day-to-day responsibilities with competence and
pride.
Supporting the Whole Person
Addiction affects every part of a person’s life, from relationships and
mental health to employment and education. That’s why we take a whole-
person approach to recovery, and education is a vital part of that. Engaging
in learning can reduce anxiety, improve focus, and restore self-esteem, all
of which are crucial for sustained recovery. It also gives structure to the
day, promotes routine, and reinforces the mindset of progress and forward
momentum.
Creating a Safe Learning Environment
Our education sessions are tailored to meet individuals where they are,
regardless of their background or prior experience. We foster a non-
judgmental, encouraging space where learning is collaborative,
confidence-building, and often fun. Lessons are delivered in small groups,
with the same ethos as the rest of our recovery work - peer support,
empathy, and a belief in second chances.
Music Therapy
Music goes beyond word - it speaks to the heart, unlocks emotion, and helps us express what we sometimes struggle to say out loud. That’s why we offer music-based courses and sessions as a powerful therapeutic tool in our recovery program.
Whether you’re creating music, listening, writing lyrics, or simply feeling the rhythm, music can help service users:
-
Process emotions in a safe and creative way
-
Build confidence and self-expression
-
Improve mood and reduce stress or anxiety
-
Develop focus, patience, and mindfulness
-
Feel connected—to themselves, their story, and others
Our music sessions are accessible to everyone - you don’t need any musical background, just a willingness to explore. In a small, supportive group, guided by mentors who understand recovery, music becomes a tool for healing, reflection, and self-discovery.
In recovery, every voice matters. Music helps you find yours again.
Meditation
In a holistic recovery setting, healing isn’t just about what we let go of - it’s also about what we learn to sit with. Meditation offers a powerful way to reconnect with the present moment, calm the mind, and begin to understand ourselves on a deeper level.
Through stillness and breath, meditation helps service users manage stress, reduce anxiety, increase self-awareness, and develop emotional balance. It teaches us how to pause, reflect, and respond - rather than react - which is key in long-term recovery.
At our wellness centre, meditation is more than just a practice - it’s a gentle space to come home to yourself.
Team Building
Recovery can feel isolating - but healing doesn’t happen alone. That’s why team-building groups are a vital part of our wellness centre. These sessions help service users develop trust, communication, and connection with others who understand the journey.
Through group activities and shared challenges, service users build confidence, strengthen social skills, and learn the value of support, accountability, and healthy relationships. Team building also reminds us that we’re stronger together - and that community is a key part of lasting recovery.
Here, we don’t just grow as individuals - we grow as a team.

More than just physical movement, yoga combines mindful breathing, gentle stretching, and meditative focus, helping individuals reconnect with themselves in a calm and empowering space.
For service users navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, trauma, or stress, yoga provides a safe and supportive practice that fosters emotional regulation, builds physical resilience, and cultivates inner peace. It encourages self-awareness without judgment, helping individuals gain control over their thoughts and reactions - an essential step in long-term healing.
Incorporating yoga into our recovery services invites participants to slow down, breathe deeply, and create space for growth - both on and off the mat. Whether you're new to yoga or returning after time away, it's a gentle, grounding tool to support your journey toward wellbeing and self-discovery.
